FIREFIGHTER City of Parma The Parma Civil Service Commission will conduct the written exam for Firefighter for the City of Parma to establish an eligible list. Said exam will be held on June 6, 2015. Applications are available May 5, 2015 through May 18, 2015. Parma is an Equal Opportunity Employer and strongly encourages minorities to apply. Applications and further information obtainable at the Civil Service Office located in Memorial Hall directly behind Parma City Hall, 6617 Ridge Rd. Parma (access off Ridgewood Dr.) 440-885-8060. Completed applications must be returned to the Parma Civil Service Office, 6617 Ridge Rd. Parma, Ohio. Deadline for filing is May 20, 2015. Some qualifications needed to apply are: Applicant must be 18 yrs. old; must have Ohio Emergency Medical Technician Certificate EMT-P (Paramedic); must be high school graduate or have GED certificate; must have valid Ohio Driver's license. Applicants will be required to pass a written exam; agility exam; background check, pre-employment polygraph, physical exam; post employment polygraph exam and psychological exam. There is a $30.00 non refundable fee to take the written exam. Said fee to be paid at time of filing application. Said fee will be waived with proof of financial hardship. If individual passes written exam and is eligible to take agility exam, there will be an additional $60.00 non refundable fee. If written exam fee was waived for financial hardship, agility fee will be waived.

Ever want to know what’s in all those cabinets on a fire truck? Want to meet a fireman in person (without the fire?) The City of Parma’s annual Parma Fire Station Open House will take place this Saturday at all five Parma Fire stations. Residents of all ages are invited to come see the Parma Fire Department equipment, say hi to our firemen and find out about all our fire crews have to offer our residents. All of the stations will be open for your viewing from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Firefighters will be on hand to answer questions you may have about the services we provide. Our fire stations are located here: Station One – 5625 Pearl Road; Station Two – 3311 Snow Road; Station Three – 6655 Ridge Road; Station Four – 3000 Pleasant Valley Road; Station Five – 10220 Pleasant Valley Road.
