After 31 years at Engine Co. 2, Firefighter Don Mlady, Badge 176 is working his final shift. A retirement ceremony and luncheon was held in his honor at PFD HQ this afternoon. FF Mlady was one of the first paramedics on the PFD and has served our department and citizens with distinction. Don is one of the few firefighters to serve his entire career at one company. He serves as an excellent role model for the probies as to how "the job" is done. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Don, we wish you the best in retirement. You have earned it.
20 year veteran of the PFD, Capt. Mike Lasky was sworn in as the new Fire Chief in council chambers this morning.
