8 new Cadets were sworn in this morning. The new hires will help restore manpower levels that have lowered with retirements. Department grant writers secured a federal grant to help fund staffing levels.
Crews fought a house fire on the evening of January 6th. No injuries were reported. Firefighters managed to save the family dog. Fire investigators will be on scene today to determine a cause.
Today we congratulate Lt. Mike Florjancic and Lt. Mark Poloha on their final shift. They each served 33 years with the Parma Fire Department and we wish them well in their retirement. A ceremony and luncheon was held this morning at HQ for family and friends. May they each have a long and healthy retirement.
