PREPARING TO HIRE

The PFD Interview Board was busy this week interviewing candidates to fill six vacant positions on the department.  The six individuals chosen will be required to pass post offer polygraph tests, medical examinations and psychological exams prior to being appointed sometime in September.  New members spend their first 12 weeks working five eight hour days a week in Parma Fire’s Cadet Training Program before being assigned to a shift.  The cadets become “counters” when they are assigned to a shift but their cadet training continues for the remainder of their two year probationary period.
