Firefighter Exam

FIREFIGHTER City of Parma

The Parma Civil Service Commission will conduct the written exam for Firefighter for the City of Parma to establish an eligible list. Said exam will be held on March 4, 2017. Applications are available February 13, 2017 through February 24, 2017. The City of Parma is an Equal Opportunity Employer and strongly encourages minorities to apply. Applications and further information obtainable at the Civic Service Office located in Memorial Hall directory behind Parma City Hall, 6617 Ridge Rd. Parma (access off of Ridgewood Dr.) 440-885-8060. Completed applications must be returned to the Parma Civil Service Office, 6617 Ridge Rd. Parma, Ohio. Deadline for filing is February 27, 2017.

Some qualifications needed to apply are: Applicants must be 18 yrs. old; must have Ohio Emergency Medical Technician Certificate EMT-P (Paramedic); must have Firefighter Level II by time of appointment; must be high school graduate or have GED certificate; must have valid Ohio Driver's license. Applicants will be required to pass a written exam, agility exam, background check, pre-employment polygraph, physical exam, post-employment polygraph exam, and psychological exam. There is a non-refundable fee to take the written exam. Said fee to be paid at time of filing application. Said fee will be waived with proof of financial hardship. If individual passes written exam and is eligible to take agility exam, there will be an additional $60.00 non-refundable fee. If written exam fee was waived for financial hardship, agility fee will be waived.
