A Typical Month For Training

Below is an example of some of the training that take place in a typical month.

Training schedule for January 2013 as follows:

EMS Monthly CE:
Airway Management and Ventilation Skills Lab
Wednesday, January 16 (B), Thursday, January 17 (C) and Friday, January 11 (A)
0900-1030 and 1030-1200 each day- shift commanders please determine order of attendance
Paramedics will demonstrate competency in the following airway adjuncts:
Pediatric and Adult ventilation and ET intubation; King Airway insertion; Quick-Trach; ResQPod; CPAP
EMT-B will demonstrate competency in:
Pediatric and Adult ventilation; King Airway insertion; ResQPod
There will also be a short quiz for all members regarding indications, contraindications and techniques for the King Airway and the RES-QPod (Impedance Threshold device)- all members should review pages 116-119 of the PCGH prehospital protocols prior to reporting for training.

Stryker Power cots inservice training:
Wednesday, January 23 (C); Thursday, January 24 (A) and Friday, January 25 (B)
0900-1030 and 1030-1200 each day- shift commanders please determine order of attendance

Monthly Fire CE:
Electrical Systems Basics
Monday,January 28 (B); Tuesday, January 29 (C) and Wednesday, January 30 (A)
0900-1030 and 1030-1200 each day- shift commanders please determine order of attendance.

Also- all members must complete the State Trauma Triage program on the Ohio EMS website by February 28- detail will follow in a separate email. This program is required for all members to recertify with the Ohio Dept of EMS.

There is no Fire Safety Inspector Training scheduled this month; however, all inspectors should complete one of the FSI modules on the 24/7 website in order to stay current on training hours.

Don't forget ACLS Class on January 15 and PALS on January 22 for those scheduled to attend- books are available from Arlene. Pretests must be completed prior to class.
