Gas line Ruptured

Station 2 was quickly on the scene of a natural gas leak as crews accidentally dug up the main line on Snow Rd in front of the station. Snow was closed between State and 33rd until crews could contain the leak. One lane is open in each direction as of 0700, Feb 28th.

Maysday Fire

Crews responded to a fire in the 7000 block of Maysday Ave at 1:30 this morning. Three residents narrowly escaped. One male climbed out af an upstairs window to a porch roof and jumped and another male climbed out a 1st floor bedroom window. A female also upstairs ran through the smoke and out the front door. She had smoke inhalation and the male that jumped had a hand laceration. Both were treated and released on the scene. Two of the families three dogs did not make it out and were overcome by smoke. There were no working smoke detectors in the residence.
