Working House Fire On Lucerne

Engine Companies 2, 1, 4 and Ladder 3 battled a house fire earlier this afternoon in the 2900 block of Lucerne Ave. The fire was reported by a neighbor who could see flames inside the home. Engine Co. 2 arrived first and reported a working fire at the rear of the home. The home sustained heavy damage prior to the arrival of the fire crews but the fire was cut off quickly from spreading to more of the home.

No injuries to occupants or firefighters. Unfortunately several pets perished in the fire.
